Heiko by Heiko in Torre del Mar, Spain was opened in December 2003 by my father, Heiko Stumbeck, and is currently owned and run by me, Peter Hejnfelt.
Our customers come from all over Europe, therefore it’s handy that I speak fluent Danish, German, English and Spanish.
The shop is open six days per week, however, we have adopted the Spanish way of life and close for siesta in the middle of the day.
My name is Peter Hejnfelt and I was raised in a family of opticians. I spent my younger years working in my parents’ optician’s shop in Odense, Denmark, after which I trained as an optometrist in Copenhagen. Apart from a few years in the military, I have been an optician for all of my professional life. When I was offered the position of manager for Heiko by Heiko in Spain back in 2005, I jumped at the chance. Subsequently, this has been a decision that I have never regretted. Today, Heiko by Heiko in Torre del Mar is my own shop, which means that I have the freedom to develop the business in my own way. In addition, I also have the advantage of close collaboration with my family’s eyewear enterprise.
When Heiko by Heiko in Torre del Mar opened back in 2003, Trini was the shop’s very first employee. She trained as an optometrist at Granada University and, subsequently, she now has 15 years of experience as an optician under her belt. In addition to taking good care of our English- and Spanish-speaking customers, Trini is in charge of all the shop’s administrative affairs. Trini speaks Spanish and English and is, in addition, working resolutely on her German skills within the field of optometry.
Hi, I´m Ainhoa and I started working at Heiko by Heiko in 2021. Before coming to Torre del Mar I lived in Barcelona for 6 months, where I graduated as a veterinary nurse and learnt some catalán during my stay. I enjoy learning languages and my goal is to speak as many as I can. Although I'm Spanish I grew up speaking English and I'm currently learning German, which is very easy to do at Heiko by Heiko. My job involves helping customers, assisting the optometrists in their job and also doing some graphic design.
From its humble start in Odense back in 1974, Heiko Stumbeck A/S has developed into a successful company that specialises in glasses and contact lenses.
Subsequently, today there are Heiko by Heiko shops in Odense, Middelfart, Copenhagen, Svendborg and Torre del Mar.
We are continuously developing new collections for our own brand, Heiko by Heiko, in exclusive and limited batches. Therefore, this ensures that our customers always have unique glasses which never become mainstream.
