ADVANCED EYE TEST

When was the last time you had an eye test?
Experts recommend that you have an eye test every year to 18 months to identify any changes in your prescription as well as diagnosing or, hopefully, ruling out eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma. Regular eye tests are also important because they detect other problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and macular degeneration.

There is no need to worry about an eye test – they aren’t scary in the slightest!
Every eye test is different depending on the individual. However, a typical examination more or less follows the same steps, which are described below:
Firstly, if you are a new customer, we will take all of your details, including finding out if you already wear glasses or contact lenses. If you have glasses but haven’t brought your prescription with you, we have a machine that can determine the strength of your lenses.
We will then test to see if you are long-sighted or short-sighted using our modern autorefractor machine. It measures the shape of the cornea and also how the light bends as it enters the eye.
Afterward, the optician will bring you into the examination room, where he or she will use a variety of tests to determine your exact prescription. For example, during the test, you will read a test chart (a series of letters) through different lenses to work out the quality of your eyesight.
We will also to test you for cataracts and glaucoma. An early diagnosis for these diseases is very important.
